Our Story

Meet Shannon and Nina, co-founders of You + Yours
We became instant BFF's on the first day we met over 30 years ago! We showed up on the first day of grade 6 both wearing New Kids on the Block badges and we knew right then and there we were meant to be friends. As we grew from young girls into busy working mom's our styles thankfully evolved.
Nina's style became more classic casual, mixed with a never-ending search for healthy and cleaner options. While Shannon's style focuses on the latest fashion and trends.
A bit more about us…
We dreamed up starting our own online boutique over a couple of glasses of Rosé in 2020. Having a boutique together that would allow us to spend more time together doing something we love…shopping!
We want to make women look and feel good, shop for cute outfits and items that make them smile without having the high shipping costs and wait time from ordering from the US. We want to create an online shopping experience that would meet our needs and the needs of other Canadian women. And now we are making our dreams a reality with You + Yours Online Boutique!
Meet Shannon
In my professional life, I have been working as a Business Professional for over 15 years in various roles. I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and am a Mom of two.
I put together a list of the top things I love (besides my husband & children lol)
All things mystery! Unsolved Mysteries, Dateline, Ancient Aliens anything that makes it hard to sleep at night!
Shopping doesn’t matter if it’s online or in-store, I tend to be more on the trendy side
Boy Bands, still haven’t grown out of this phase and have no plans on it either!
Wine (Rose, Prosecco, White)
The Cabin, campfires, starry nights, tan lines, and thunderstorms out at the Lake can’t be beat!
Travel, have a passion for travel and a fear of flying but somehow it works itself out!
Sleeping with a heating pad on my back (maybe that’s TMI)

My background is in Skincare and Makeup! I have been a professional makeup artist for Film and Television for the past 15 years. I tried literally everything when it comes to skincare and makeup, so I’ve become very particular in choosing what options we were going to offer on You + Yours. If I didn’t love it we were not going to sell it!
Just some hobbies and stuff about me...or maybe some of the things that I have done that were amazing…
Travel, travel, travel! My fave trips ever were when Shannon and I would go on our annual road trips to Minneapolis to watch the greatest band of all time NKOTB!
I'd like to say I’m into staying fit and healthy but my biggest form of exercise would be Yoga (if they ever open again). Other than that does drinking wine count?
My favourite season is fall…something about the idea of being cozy, lighting candles, that kind of thing
I’m married and the mom of 2 boys so lots of testosterone around me…I believe this is another reason why I wanted to design a space for some feminine self-care
I would describe my style as classic and casual. I prefer to spend more on quality pieces I can wear for a long period of time over trendy pieces that are one-time wears!
